Great Day! First Test out on the Water!!:)

The day started out on a not so good start as I was installing the "Smart Tabs" on my boat. They gave me all kinds of problems, one of the brackets didn't even have the holes drilled through it to mount the trim tab. After much to do I finally got them installed and headed to the lake!
First we floated the boat to see if it was going to be tail heavy with the new CMC PT-35 and motor and to see if it had any leaks I wasn't aware of. To my sha-grin it floated very nicely!:)

Next step was to give it a run out on the water! Needless to say it ran flawlessly and handled like new! Mannnnnnnnn was I smiling!! After so much work and more or less guessing if the changes I've made (such as which prop, how the Smart Tabs would preform, would the 35hp have enough power, etc.) it was so nice to be out on the water driving a 44 yr. old boat!

Now I just have to fine turn it (steering wheel column was a little lose and might try re-proping it) and wait for spring to get here. Oh and start on my other StarCraft that has the 50hp motor on it.

All and all am so pleased with the results and can't wait to take it out again! This has truly been one special project that I have enjoyed immensely, through all the cold weather in "Camp StarCraft" and all the challenges it's been the best!:) Video of the outing to follow coming shortly....
Thanks for Checking out my Blog and my little 1965 StarCraft runabout.

New Pics, No Lake Test Today:(

With the weather not the best today, cloudy and cold I couldn't find anyone to wingman on their boat to go out on the water today. With it being the first run I'd like another boat around just in case it does happen to break down. I'm really confident that it wouldn't but being the first run would feel better about having another boater out out on the water when I take her out. Next Sat. is supposed to be nice and have a friend tell me he'd shadow me for my first run. So till next weekend here's some of the lastest pics.

Pics are of new cover, and close ups of the CMC PT-35.

Very Good Day, Got Lots Done!

Took the boat to my friends shop today to mount the new CMC PT-35 and motor. Although it took half a day to complete everything: Drill and mount CMC, mount and drill the motor, run the wires, hook up all the engine cables, connect the battery cables, run fuel line, Mount fuel tank, mount new "StarCraft" emblems, connect steering cable mount, mount backseat and yes fire up the motor and make all the ajustments!:) It runs great and am so excited that tomorrow will be able to finally put it in the water for testing!:)

Weather Turned Nice, Outboard Primed

Had to work yesterday but the weather really turned out nice!:) Got everything done to get the boat ready to install the new CMC PT-35 and give it a lake test! Although it's raining this morning I'm hoping to get it out on the lake later this afternoon. Will keep you posted...

New Emblems and the Cold is Back:(

Got the new emblems in today and they look great! Really will set off the hull when I get them on.

The cold weather came back today and not even complaining, stepped off the ladder I've been using to get on and off of the boat yesterday and sprang my ankle really bad so pretty much have had to stay off of it. Weather should break in the next couple of days and will be able to finally mount the CMC PT-35 now that it's all wired up. Stay tuned...
